Catalysing Sustainability in the Adriatic Region: ESG Adria Summit

Overview

The ESG Adria Summit is the region’s premier business event dedicated to advancing the sustainability agenda and shaping the future of responsible growth. With a strong emphasis on economic resilience and long-term prosperity, the Summit provides a unique platform for establishing connections and strengthening ties with key EU and global stakeholders. It serves as a hub for innovation, influence, and decisive action.

More than just a conference, the Summit is where the next wave of sustainable business strategies for the Adriatic region is developed. It facilitates the building of strategic alliances and the launch of significant initiatives. It enables attendees to gain invaluable insights, forge influential relationships, and explore the latest trends in ESG – from pioneering technologies to transformative business models.

Challenge

The Adria region faces significant environmental and social challenges, including climate change and the urgent need for sustainable economic development that aligns with European and global ESG standards. There is a pressing need to raise awareness and build capacity within local businesses to navigate these challenges and seize opportunities arising from responsible business practices.

Approach

Sustineri Partners recognised the need for a collaborative event that brings together senior representatives from companies, banks, international financial institutions, government bodies, civil society, and leading sustainability experts. The Summit is held in Porto Montenegro, a prestigious marina and waterfront development located within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Bay of Kotor. It is organised in partnership with the Government of Montenegro and under the auspices of the President of Montenegro, fostering dialogue and actionable strategies.

Impact

The inaugural Summit 2023 attracted over 450 participants from over 150 organisations, including over 100 C-suite executives. In its second year, attendance grew to more than 250 companies and 200 C-suite visitors. Media coverage surged by 292% from 2023 to 2024, generating over 350 global headlines and engagement from more than 60 journalists. The number of panels and presentations expanded from 20 in 2023 to 35 in 2024, which included specialised workshops featuring over 100 world-class speakers, while social media impressions doubled.

In its third year, the ESG Adria Summit continues its mission to catalyse positive change for businesses and society through thought-provoking discussions and long-term stakeholder engagement.
